Cloudtown Courier

A delivery game that stays completely offline. The game never sends data about you off your device.

1. Introduction and controller

Cloudtown Courier is a delivery game by TiNi Studio that works completely offline: no user account, no login and no connection to a server. The game never sends data about you off your device.

The controller within the meaning of the GDPR is Niklas Wieser (TiNi Studio). You can find the postal address and email address in the legal notice (Impressum).

No data protection officer has been appointed.

2. What data we process

The game stores only two things, and only on your device:

  • Saved game: day, coins, deliveries, constructed buildings, upgrades, vehicles, placed decorations, collected postcards, best scores and how far you have got in the introduction
  • Settings: language, sound, music, vibration and graphics style

This data contains no information about you as a person, and we never receive it.

Not processed:

  • Name or email address
  • Location
  • Contacts, photos and other media
  • Advertising ID or device identifiers
  • Microphone or camera
  • Usage statistics and crash reports

The game requests no permissions and has no internet access in the published version.

3. What we use this data for

Your saved game and settings are stored only so that the game works:

  • You continue where you left off.
  • Your language, sound and other settings are kept.

There are no ads, no tracking, no profiling and no real-money purchases. Coins exist only inside the game.

4. Legal basis

Storing data on your device is strictly necessary for the game to provide the features you want to use (Section 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG). Insofar as personal data should be affected, the legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR: providing the game.

We do not ask for consent because no processing that requires consent takes place.

5. Recipients, Google Play and device backup

We do not share any data because we do not receive any. The game contains no third-party analytics, advertising or tracking components.

  • Google Play: You download the game and its updates via the Google Play Store. Google processes data in its own responsibility, for example about your account and device. Google's privacy policy applies. Through the Play Console we receive only aggregated statistics from Google, such as install numbers. If you have allowed sharing of diagnostic data in your device settings, anonymised crash reports are added. We cannot identify individuals from them.
  • Device backup: If you have turned on Android backup, Android may back up your saved game together with other app data to your Google account. You control this in your device settings; we have no access to this backup.

Google's privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy

6. How long data is stored

Your saved game and settings stay on your device until you delete them yourself:

  • “New game” in the main menu deletes your saved game; your settings are kept.
  • Clearing the app data in the Android settings removes both.
  • Uninstalling removes both.

There are no server logs, because the game does not contact a server.

7. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

  • Access (Art. 15 GDPR)
  • Rectification (Art. 16 GDPR)
  • Erasure (Art. 17 GDPR)
  • Restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
  • Data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
  • Objection (Art. 21 GDPR)

You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The authority responsible for us is the Bavarian State Office for Data Protection Supervision (BayLDA) in Ansbach.

8. Access and deletion in practice

We do not receive any data from you. So there is nothing on our side that we could provide access to or delete. Everything is on your device, and you can delete it yourself at any time (see section 6).

We are happy to answer privacy questions by email to the address in the legal notice (Impressum), free of charge and within 30 days.

9. Use outside the EU

The game does not transfer any data, no matter where you play. Google's privacy policy applies to downloads via Google Play; Google may also process data outside the EU in doing so.

10. Children and minors

Cloudtown Courier is not specifically aimed at children. But because the game collects no data, shows no ads, offers no purchases and allows no contact with other players, it is also safe for younger players.

The age rating in the store is assigned through the IARC process.

11. Changes to this policy

We update this policy when the game or the law changes, for example if the game ever gets online features. The date at the bottom of the page shows the current version.

We announce material changes in advance in the app or in the store listing.
